A Hypothetical Concept

Our humanity often reaches, hypothetically, to grasp
that sliver of perfection that often changes with each passing moment
"Only IF…
I was beautiful enough.
I was "thin" enough.
I possessed the right strength,
or I was intelligent enough."
Only IF the intangible were tangible.
"IF…
I could fly high enough.
I could run fast enough.
I could love hard enough."
Only IF I could find a way to sing my sorrows with the voice of a nightingale to lull my mind into a numbing slumber… Only IF I could tuck them into a bed of carelessness with the hands of delicacy.
"IF…
My happiness was joyous enough,
or My pains were valid enough."
Only IF I didn't have to wish on shooting stars of "IFs" to grant life its perfections. & only IF I could patch the holes of a broken world with the solidarity of my passions.
No longer in hesitation,
I delete the burdens of "ifs" from the weights that plague my aching shoulders – Now, only holding up the desire to accept myself and the aspirations that I deem worthy.. as “Enough”.
